 Do not panic, people in Tamil Nadu are friendly, says Guv Ravi to migrant workers

Tamil Nadu Governor R. N. Ravi on Sunday sought to allay the fears of migrant workers in Tamil Nadu after rumors surfaced that some of them had been attacked in the state. He said the people at TN were nice and friendly.

The workers need not panic, the Raj Bhavan informed in tweets in Tamil, English and Hindi.

“The Governor urged the North Indian workers in Tamil Nadu not to panic and feel unsafe as the people of Tamil Nadu are very nice and friendly and the state government is committed to provide them security,” Rj Bhavan said on his official Twitter handle.

On Saturday, Bihar Chief Minister M. K. Stalin had assured his counterpart Nitish Kumar that all migrant workers in the state were safe and that police had filed charges against two journalists of a Hindi daily for spreading rumors.

Ousted AIADMK leader O Panneerselvam said the state government is committed to ensuring the safety of migrant workers while ensuring that young people from Tamil Nadu find employment in companies in the state.
